Mini-THON

WHAT IS MINI-THON®?

Four Diamonds Mini-THON® is a K-12 opportunity for students to be empowered as leaders in the fight to conquer childhood cancer. Students gain work ready skills in communication, critical thinking and problem solving, while promoting teamwork, creativity and spirit within their schools.

As a year-long fundraising effort, Mini-THON® is an excellent way for students to get involved in philanthropy and engage their school and local community. This effort culminates with a multi-hour, fun-filled event involving games, music, dancing, activities and more!

Mini-THONs are modeled after the Penn State IFC/Panhellenic Dance Marathon (THONTM) and have been making a difference in the lives of kids and families fighting pediatric cancer. With tens of thousands of student volunteers in more than 200 schools, Mini-THONs are bringing hope to families in need and giving back to their community. During the 2022-2023 school year, elementary schools, middle schools and high schools raised more than $6.2 million for Four Diamonds. See how dollars raised by Mini-THON are making a difference in the lives of children fighting cancer by providing world-class medical care and life-saving research.

“Mini-THON has had a profound impact on our student leaders at Unionville High School. I have seen them become more personally invested in the success of our fundraisers–not for the purpose of receiving service hours or recognition–but because they are dedicated to living the mission of Four Diamonds. This year I watched the students rise to greatness, embodying the idea of service above self and working together to reach a lofty goal. Mini-THON is the greatest kind of leadership training because the students proudly own the entire process.”

– Faith Dilworth, Mini-THON advisor at Unionville High School
