At Penn State Health Children’s Hospital, doctors and scientists are taking big steps forward in the fight against complex childhood cancers, thanks to help from Four Diamonds. Researchers from the Beat Childhood Cancer Research Consortium (BCC) are teaming up with Aminex Therapeutics on a new national study to test a promising treatment for kids and young adults whose cancers have come back or do not respond to standard treatment.

Four Diamonds funding makes it possible to connect every part of the process, including lab research, genetic testing, clinical trials and patient care, so that discoveries can turn into real treatments faster. This means kids get therapies designed specifically for them, not just ones borrowed from adult cancer research.

The study will include more than 220 patients at up to 50 clinics across the United States. Efforts like this are possible because donations from supporters help move research at the speed kids deserve, not the slower pace of traditional funding.

By working together through this program, every dollar given to Four Diamonds can make an even bigger difference For The Kids®.
